Thanks to those who came out to our picnic on Saturday! It was truly inspiring to see so many students and early career professionals show up, engage in thought provoking discussions, and build connections around climate action.
One of the biggest takeaways from the day was the shared feeling of gratitude for having a space to talk openly about the ongoing chaos in the country. With so much (negative) information constantly bombarding our feeds, paired with the disappointing trend of leaders publicly rejecting climate (+ DEI and other) initiatives, it's so important to hold spaces like this,
where we can have honest conversations about how we're actually doing, how these changes are affecting us and our work, and how we want to move forward.
It was also really hopeful to hear from so many people who hadn’t been to a climate event quite like ours; the focus on Gen Z professionals and genuine relationship building resonated deeply, validating the demand for the kind of community building work we're doing.
It's easy to feel isolated and overwhelmed in the face of climate change, but there’s something truly special about being together IRL and connecting with like minded peers who are eager to engage and grow together. We left feeling energized, hopeful, and even more committed to creating spaces where Gen Z changemakers can connect, learn, and take action together.
Stay tuned for our next event this month (deets coming soon)! We're excited to keep building this community with you all.
